This year we added three more vehicles (one for each country), all of which became available just as we needed them at the first of the season. This gave us 13 vehicles to use, but one was put out of action in an accident in the second week - so we had 12 teams in the field installing wells. We also were kept scrambling with occasional vehicle breakdowns.

The biggest difficulty this year came with a vehicle accident with team 1 that put one of our trucks out of action and injured 3 of our team members, Andrea Taeger, Rob Hunter and Jeff Wagley, plus the Malawian driver, Mike Nyirenda. Thankfully, none of the injuries were life threatening and there were no broken bones, but Jeff Wagley and Rob Hunter were sore enough they were unable to continue installing wells.
The best understanding of the impact of the trip can be found in first hand accounts from some of the team members.
