Our Field Officers are a very important part of our organization - they are like the "Field Generals" - they are responsible for organizing and supervising a geographic area for well installations and maintenance.
Field Officers are among the few full time, paid employees supported by Marion Medical Mission. A few of the field officers are supported by other groups, but most are dependent on MMM for their support. Each one is usually responsible for the installation of approximately 100 new shallow wells each year, while ensuring the ongoing maintenance of existing wells in their area. Many of them have some part-time paid installation supervisors, but most of the installation and maintenance work is done by local volunteers or skilled builders paid for the wells they build.
Click on a Field Officer and learn all about him. You may also have the opportunity to 'Adopt' a field officer if you wish. The cost to "Adopt" a field officer is $10,000 per year which includes salary, fuel, food and lodging while working in the rural areas.
