| You can volunteer yourself - every spring we begin taking applications for the well installation program for the coming fall. You can contact the Marion Medical Mission office for more information or for applications - or applications are available on this website. |
| You can make a cash (by check) donation to Marion Medical Mission, either designated or undesignated. |
NO OVERHEAD OR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS ARE DEDUCTED FROM CONTRIBUTIONS.
This is because all overhead and administrative costs are covered by the Marion Medical Mission board as their mission contribution or by donations designated for administration or by interest income earned on donations before the money is spent.. This includes all postage, printing, brochures, office, accounting, etc. All travel to and from Africa, lodging and food are paid by the volunteers themselves.
CREDIT CARDS:
We are sorry but we do NOT except donations by credit card because credit card
transactions are not free. They cost the receiver 2% to 5% of the amount donated.
That goes directly against our "No Overhead Costs" promise. We
realize it may be more convenient for the donor, but we hope you will understand. By
taking the time to write and mail a check (made out to 'Marion Medical Mission') you
enable us to truely direct every penny of your donation to mission in Africa.
FIELD OFFICER SUPPORT:
The heart of our well installation program revolves around our Field Officers. These Africans are among our few paid employees - but they are key to installing and maintaining the thousands of shallow wells. You can learn more about them and how to provide support for them at FIELD OFFICERS.
